Sklar
The neck of this bass is an old neck I had, it’s a Warmoth neck. It’s a Warmoth body that is three quarters alder with a quarter inch swamp ash cap on top. There's two pickups here. They're both DiMarzio precision bass pickups. One has blades across and the other one has pole pieces. You can do a volume and tone on the same switch. It's a volume on the top and then around the side it's tone. I did this because I didn't have room for anything else. On most jazz basses, you have two volumes and one tone control. With this, I have two volumes and two tones so you can turn all the treble up on one and have it be all the lows coming from this or vice versa.
Now, usually basses like this only have one pickup. But I modeled this one after Leland Sklar . He has an old Precision that he put two Precision pickups on and he reversed the one that’s near the bridge, just like this. It changes the sound quite a bit. This bass has yet to receive its baptism. It could possibly be the last one I ever do, but don't hold me to that.
